Summary

One of the most exciting things we can teach our children is that Jesus came to earth as a tiny baby and that he's coming back as the King. This past-and-future perspective is at the heart of the Advent season as we celebrate what has happened and wait expectantly for what is to come. On this episode, Emily and Laura explain the meaning of advent, sharing ways to celebrate, and encourage moms to find freedom in the Christmas season. Instead of running into the holidays with added pressure of one more thing, we can look to Christ and celebrate the gospel story in our homes from an overflow of joy.

0:57.8	are doing an advent show. We are really planning ahead. I'm really proud of us, Emily, for how like
1:04.0	far ahead we're planning. Yeah, we don't even have a Christmas tree up right now as we're recording
1:07.8	this. Yeah, this is October when we're recording. That's how far ahead we're planning. I'm proud of
1:12.4	us. This is so that it gets to you nice and early so that you can plan for advent, but anyway,
1:17.5	we'll get to the show in a minute. First off, I just wanted to let all of you guys know that every
1:22.4	year we get a lot, a lot of questions about advent, what resources we like, what traditions we do,
1:27.4	how we keep things focused on Christ, all those good things, and we have an entire resources page
1:34.0	dedicated just to advent resources. So there are a lot of great ideas on there. Some of the things
1:39.9	that Emily and I will be referencing will be on that resources page today. And then in addition,
1:44.8	we also have all of Emily and I's favorite books for kids, different CDs and music. I don't know,
1:50.7	am just any resources for training your children in the gospel, lots for moms as well. So if you're
1:56.9	looking for some Christmas ideas or anything like that, head over there, check out the list, see what
