| 0:00.0 | Thank you for joining us for episode 437 of Live Happy Now. |
| 0:07.3 | Ten years ago, the happiness movement was just beginning to gain a global presence, |
| 0:12.0 | and that paved the way for a birth of a company called Live Happy. |
| 0:16.3 | I'm your host, Paula Phelps, and this week I'm talking with Deborah Hise, CEO and co-founder of Live Happy LLC, as we look back on 10 years of sharing happiness. |
| 0:26.5 | Deborah's going to explain how her work in personal development led to discovering positive psychology and how that opened the door to launching a company that remains committed to sharing the many ways we can discover greater |
| 0:38.3 | well-being. Let's have a listen. Deb, we're 10. I know. Isn't that crazy? Oh, my, I know. See, |
| 0:47.9 | now, here, you have an advantage because you're a parent, so you're used to raising 10-year-olds. |
| 0:53.1 | You know, I can't believe my kids are over 10 either at this point. You know, when they say time flies, they mean it. Ten is, that's unbelievable that we're 10. I know. So this was, it was so important. I mean, 10 years is a huge accomplishment for us to have reached there. And so this just seemed like a great time to talk with you. I wasn't there |

| 1:51.1 | their lives, really micro business owners, small business owners to, and you know, with tips on |
| 1:57.4 | how they can have a better outlook on life or a better attitude from the experts. And since you guys can't see me, I'm doing air quotes when I say the experts. Because, you know, there's a lot of people that put out content on personal development. Some of it's great, like my co-founder Jeff Olson and his book The Slide Edge. And others of it, we're not going to name any names. It's just not so great. |
| 2:18.4 | It's really questionable in the science. Yeah, well, lacking in science. And what happened was, |
| 2:25.3 | as I'm working on that project, on that publication, and really diving into personal development, |
| 2:31.5 | which I really believe in, I believe we should all be working on ourselves, that there's ability for us to enhance our lives, we can all get better, we can all |
| 2:38.3 | become better humans. This thing called positive psychology came on my radar. There is an |
| 2:45.9 | organization called the International Positive Psychology Association, and they put on something |
