1:28.5	Abby Cardas. Hello. And we have an important COVID episode for you today. This week,
1:34.3	The Washington Post reported that the CDC is planning to update COVID-19 isolation guidance,
1:41.3	ending the recommendation that people who test positive for COVID stay home from work
1:45.5	and school for five days. So we're going to get into what's happening now, the broader context,
1:50.5	recent history, and what it all means. Now, this news, of course, comes as we continue to see
1:56.1	roughly 2,000 official COVID deaths a week in the United States and over 20,000 weekly hospitalizations.
2:03.8	According to the Washington Post, who broke this story, the CDC is planning on releasing
2:08.6	the updated guidance in April. And the reporting also contains a lot of interesting details, one in
2:14.6	particular that I just want to emphasize here at the top. So the Washington Post
2:18.4	reads, quote, work on revising isolation guidance has been underway since last August, but was
2:24.1	paused in the fall as COVID cases rose. Yeah. So we're going to be coming back to that shortly.
2:30.6	But if the CDC goes ahead with this, it will be putting an end to some of its few remaining
