It's hard for me to believe that 15 years after the Deepwater Horizon disaster, when there was a

live feed on cable news of a pipeline of oil gushing into the sea for 87 straight days, a pipeline

that only existed because a fossil fuel company was giving permission to explore and then poked a hose

into the seafloor, it's hard for me to believe that memory has faded so much

that we would allow the Republicans to give away

a Germany amount of space in the Gulf

to fossil fuel companies to do it again.

When the technology exists to render all of this unnecessary,

and I don't know how to measure the costs of this.

The cost of the loss of pristine nature, the loss of animals who don't deserve to be poisoned

and to lose their homes, maybe even their whole species.

The analysis of the bill only looks at dollars, but there are costs beyond money.

And I wish they mattered to Republicans more.

I am so damn tired of being lied to.

I don't think I can deny it anymore.

You can't stick to your story if you think it flies.

But I'm not going to buy it anymore.
