Number one, this is the first ever congressional dish that was recorded in front of a live audience.

And number two, this episode is special because I wanted to end this year on a hopeful note after all of the negativity I have shown. is a friend of mine and she is running for Congress

in California's fourth district, one of the most beautiful districts in our

country that includes one of California's most precious natural playgrounds

Yosemite National Park. Her district has been

represented since 2009 by a congressman whose job performance I truly despise and

I may have played a small teeny teeny tiny part in convincing her to run for Congress

against him.

And what's amazing is that she is and she is doing quite well. And so today I'm going to

introduce you to my friend as we catch up in our first conversation since she

officially became a candidate for Congress. But this conversation is so much more than that because I learned so much

about her that I didn't know and about how the government works in our conversation
