Jennifer Briny. If this is your first time listening to this show, this is the

podcast hosted by that crazy chick who reads all the bills that pass Congress.

However, because this is the 100th episode,

which I hear is a pretty big deal,

this episode's going to be a little different.

Longtime listeners know that since I started reading the bills, one pattern that is undeniable

is the influence that money has over the people who write these bills.

For this episode, I wanted to talk to someone who understands what happens in Washington, D.C.

Someone who knows how that money is passed from companies who benefit from the bills to the

congressman.

So for this episode I interviewed Jack Abramoff, arguably the most famous lobbyist in the world.

Jack Abramoff was extremely effective at getting congressmen to do favors for his clients.

He was known for getting just about whatever his clients wanted into the ears of congressmen and into legislation.

It turns out though that Jack was effective partially because he broke the law.

He's a lobbyist that took it too far and he ended up spending three and a half

years in prison. When he got out of prison though he had a different view of

Washington DC and the systematic corruption that he played a big part in and he's been speaking out

on the problems with our political system every since.
