Welcome to the 45th episode of Congressional Dish. I am your host

Kermit the frog. Just kidding. I'm your host Jennifer Brynay and I'm not

feeling terribly well today so unfortunately you're going to have to listen to

my voice as it sounds like this. But luckily

for you this isn't going to be a very long episode because this wasn't a very

long week in Congress. For those of you who are new to this show, I read all the bills that pass

the House of Representatives and let you know what's in them. And this week the House did

very, very little. They didn't show up to work until Wednesday. And I'm recording this on Friday morning.

And the thing is that they weren't even supposed

to be working this week, strangely enough,

even though they took five weeks off in August,

they were supposed to have a vacation week this this week but because they

have not funded the government which is their most basic job and they have to do so by

Monday they did come into work but they didn't do much work. So we're only going to talk about one

bill that passed the house this week and it wasn't that big of a bill. And I'm

actually kind of disappointed because I had a whole second half of this show
