So let's just jump right into it.

Today I am looking at an article by the Washington Post discussing, well, it's headlined,

scientists convert spinach leaves into human heart tissue that beats.

That's right, folks.

It's not just for Popeye anymore.

Now they have turned a leaf of spinach into beating heart tissue.

Very fascinating research here.

Basically, they soak the leaf in a solution that dissolves all of the plant cells

within the structure of the leaf, leaving a sort of jellyfish-like skeleton of a spinach leaf, which then they

replace the plant cells with human heart tissue and then pump blood through the vascular

system of the spinach, which creates a surprisingly functional piece of heart tissue.
