Summary

In this episode, I sit down with bestselling author Mark Manson - bestselling author, best known for The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, and co-founder of Purpose, the world's first AI mentor specifically built for personal growth.  We have a  wide-ranging, grounded conversation about why New Year's resolutions don't work, what "not giving a f*ck" actually means, and why meaning—not happiness—is the real foundation of a fulfilling life.

We also explore the surprising pros and cons of using AI as a therapist, the limits of mindset-only self-help, and where personal responsibility can turn into self-punishment if we're not careful.

This conversation is honest, nuanced, and refreshingly free of spiritual bypass—perfect for anyone who's tired of self-improvement clichés and ready for real growth.

Hey everybody and welcome to Coach's Corner. Today I interview Mark Manson, who is the number one

0:08.9

best selling author of several books, most known for the subtle art of not giving a fuck.

0:14.8

Many of you have probably read it and I was excited to have him on today. And one of the things I

0:19.6

wanted to talk to him about and that we dig

0:22.1

into in this episode is can AI replace a therapist or coach? Because I've been seeing that so many

0:29.1

people are starting to turn to AI as a coach, as a therapist, and different platforms are really

0:35.6

smart and can give you great insight about your patterns and

0:39.3

yourself. And this has been a concern for me for a couple of reasons. One, obviously,

0:45.1

coaching is my profession, but more so how human connection is continuing to dwindle. And Mark makes some really super valid points

0:56.4

about why AI specifically a great platform that can provide wonderful coaching could be useful.

1:05.7

And I see that. And honestly, I'm conflicted because I also know how important a human that can track

1:15.8

body language and that can fill you somatically. And then at the same time, I'm like, well,

1:21.9

humans project. We're not always totally objective and neutral. So where I've come to with it, especially for right now,

1:29.2

is a both and. I love watching movies in my living room on Netflix, but it's not the same as going

1:36.0

to a movie theater. And that may be a terrible comparison. It's just the one that popped in.

1:42.9

But I think that we'll find as much as

1:45.8

AI is useful. And we're just at the beginning. What it can't replace is human connection and being

1:53.5

with other people. So I'm going to continue being human and doing my human thing and having this

2:00.0

podcast and hosting live events and live

2:02.4

courses so that we can keep connecting in the human form and find a way for AI to support us,

2:10.1

but not enable us and not disconnect us even further. So I want to tell you a little bit more about

2:16.2

Mark Manson. He's a three-time number one
