outpouring of admiration and gratitude for Jimmy Carter, our nation's 39th president. We learned today

that the official funeral for Carter will be held January 9th at the Washington National Cathedral.

President Biden has declared that date a national day of mourning.

He's also ordered the nation's flags to be flown at half staff for 30 days.

Next Saturday, a motorcade will carry Carter's remains through his hometown of Plains, Georgia.

He will then lie in repose at the Carter Presidential Center.
