Summary

It’s been exactly one year since UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was murdered in Manhattan. And 27-year-old Luigi Mangione is back in a New York courtroom today, as attention turns to his interactions with the police officers who arrested him at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, five days into the manhunt. The FBI has arrested a man in connection with two pipe bombs that were planted outside the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters the night before the Jan. 6 Capitol riot in 2021. Military officials showed lawmakers video of a second strike on an alleged Venezuelan drug boat behind closed doors on Capitol Hill on Thursday, and testified that there was no order from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to kill everyone on board, multiple lawmakers said.
