Good evening. I'm John Dickerson. Maurice Dubois is off tonight. We begin with the horrific crash of a tour bus in western New York outside of the city of Buffalo.

Officials say multiple people were killed,

including at least one child.

The bus ended up on its side along the shoulder

of the New York State Thruway.

It was returning to New York City

carrying dozens of tourists

who had visited Niagara Falls.

John, a convoy of first responders remain along the stretch of the New York State

through way. In the distance, you can see that white tour bus overturned for hours, now upright

once again. State troopers say the tour bus was going full speed along the highway.

Suddenly it lost control, hit a median, then over corrected and landed in a ditch near Pembroke

about 30 miles east of Buffalo, New York.

The bus did roll.

There were multiple ejections. There are multiple people trapped and there's multiple fatalities.

And this includes children as well.

With more than 50 passengers on board, the bus had just left Niagara Falls, traveling back to New York City.

Most of the people speaking on the tour bus would be Indian, Chinese, and Philippine.
