evening. I'm John Dickerson. I'm Maurice Dubois. A trade war broke out today between the United States and its

neighbors after President Trump threatened Canada and Mexico with new tariffs, and they retaliated.

But hours later, it was over before a single tariff was fired across any border.

Financial markets got rattled, though.
