And in this lesson we are joining Katie again, one of our three students currently studying

French in Nice. In Katie's diary entry this week, she's going to be talking about her

In the streets of Viennese, where I asked all the stores and cafes if they needed

someone, I was completely exhausted. I had to go. I was on the point to go back to my apartment

when I noticed a small coffee next to the market of flowers. The owner was

in a group of American tourists, and he was sick of getting to know each other. The Americans

didn't speak much French. I translated what Monsieur tried to say to them, and he was

well impressed by my French. A few minutes later, I was no longer in the mood.

So I started to go on a business trip, and that's very well done. The most part of the clients

were French, so I had a lot of opportunities to practice my French. There were tourists

too, with whom I could speak English. Monsieur Gérard, the owner, is very nice. He

explained everything I had to know, and he looked happy at my work. His son works
