Welcome back once again to Coffee Break French.

It's lesson 70 and in this lesson we're going to be doing something that learners tend

to find quite difficult in a foreign language that is making a phone call.

So you'll be learning all the words, the useful vocabulary that you need for making a phone

call all the standard phrases and also we'll be picking up on some grammar points too.

Now as last week we're going to start by looking at some basic vocabulary which we'll then

put into phrases, building phrases from the language that you already know.

So what for the telephone in French is the telephone and the telephone number is the

number of telephone.

If you've got to dial a phone number then you use the verb composer.

So that's like composing the telephone number.

Composer, the numero.

And another couple of verbs associated with the phone would be obviously telephone-

telephone.

To telephone someone or to phone someone, telephone.

Telephone.

And a more regular word for phoning to call.

How do you say to call?

Appeler?

Appeler.

Now appeler is one of those tricky verbs because there are some spelling changes in appeler.
