Hey there, I'm so glad you stopped by for this podcast.

We hope so much we can serve you today.

Would you turn with me, please, to John, chapter 16.

It's not that suddenly we're in John chapter 16 as we look at some of the things that are

distinctives in the gospel of John, it's just that the concept that we're going to study

today happens to be centered here and then a touch in John chapter 15.

So again, we'll very likely go back to chapters before this, but this was where the Holy Spirit

was leading for today.

At least I feel strongly that it was because it's what was burning in my heart.

I want to read John 16, 23 and 24, then John 15, 7 through 11, listen carefully for common

denominators.

John 16, verse 23, in that day, you will no longer ask me anything.

I tell you the truth, my father will give you whatever you ask in my name, verse 24, until

now you have not asked for anything in my name.

Now this is Jesus talking to his disciples, I'll explain a little bit about what in my

name means in this context.

And then he says, ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete.

Now depending upon what kind of translation you have today, and thankfully we have many

translations in this room, but to the degree that you heard that, I'll repeat it again

and then I want you to say it with me, it says this and then I'll ask you to repeat it.

Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete.
