So, um, it's the government holiday version of Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday, is

actually the day people get off of you get the day off. Oftentimes people play a

little bit of the I have a dream speech and and that's about it in terms of

tipping your hat to MLK and sometimes have a parade where your local leaders

feel like they have to be there. I don't know how much sway MLK's vision actually

has in the modern world. I have more on that in a minute but before we get to that

thought maybe we'd play a little of of MLK for you.

All we say to America is be true to what you said on paper.

I live in China even Russia in a totalitarian country. Maybe I could

understand some of these illegal injunctions. Maybe I could understand the

denial of certain basic first amendment privileges because they haven't

committed themselves to that over that but somewhere I read of the freedom of

assembly, somewhere I read of the freedom of speech, somewhere I read of the

freedom of press, somewhere I read that the greatness of America gives the

right to protest far right.

So just as I say we aren't going to let any dogs or waterholes us turn us around,

we aren't going to let any injunction turn us around.

Well, I mean that's some good stuff right there. That's obviously a fantastic

righteous and true and undeniable as any words ever spoken.

But does MLK hold more sway today over either black people or I don't know young

liberals than Ibram X. Kendi who we've talked about on the show before. He's got that
