The... Our agent explored a strange alternate history of America, a world in which slavery survived. She returned with

stories of poverty, torture, and death. Long hours, dangerous working conditions, no human rights,

and ruthless owners. The slaves in this world are not treated as

humans with a will and a mind of their own, but rather as animals or machines. But unlike

machines, the slaves in this world are whipped and beaten so that they feel their machines have greater value than them.

If a slave breaks a machine, the slave is punished.

If a machine breaks a slave, all those who weren't hurt are punished.

Our agent reports that new slaves are often stunned and confused by the inhumanity of this world. The older slaves have a perspective on this.

They say that power sometimes devours the slave owners so completely that they become animals, predators themselves. They call their slaves beasts, but it is they who have the jungle inside them. Please put on your costume now while I finish your orientation.
