Father Nick, it's an honor and a privilege. Thank you for having me.

I got to meet you in real life at your wedding, actually, in North Carolina to a regular on this podcast,

Captain Emily Rainey. And it was a great honor to be at your wedding, such a beautiful,

growing family that you have. Let me just give a quick intro to Logan, a little CV for him.

Logan Reed is a 34-year-old, a traditional Catholic, devoted husband to Emily Grace and proud

stepfather to their

son Elijah, a U.S. Army veteran Logan now works in project management, but finds his true

passion as president of the martyrs walk. This Catholic men's brotherhood hosts military-style

retreats to help men embrace their God-given vocations and lead with virtuous masculinity

in a world increasingly hostile to the foundations of family life and authentic male leadership.

The Martyr's Walk is dedicated to equipping men to stand firm as protectors, providers, and spiritual leaders with their families.

We're going to talk a little bit about martyr's walk towards the end. But today on this podcast, we are talking about what happened in North Carolina with the storm, what people are doing to help fix, rescue, and recover.

And before we get into the stats, I just want our listeners to understand that we live in a very fast news cycle.

There is going to be months

of fixing roads. There's still thousands of people stranded. And we have Catholics helping out there.

Again, the name of this little interview, we're just going to go for about 30 minutes, Catholics

rescuing in North Carolina. So I want to hit the bad news and then the good news.

Logan, what is happening out there in the state that you live? And you lived in there even

before the hurricane hit. What's the bad news on the ground in North Carolina?

Yeah. So, well, first for starters, this hurricane, Helen, was the deadliest hurricane that's hit the U.S. since the 2017 Hurricane Maria that hit Puerto Rico, absolutely devastated the island.
