Mississippi, here's your host, Lino Ruling. Hello Catholics. And everyone else, welcome to your home for pure Catholic pleasure. It is The Catholic Guy Show.

You know, the show is called The Catholic Guy, so that's technically my moniker.

I guess I own the copyright and such. the advantage of calling myself the Catholic guy,

it never was meant to imply that I was a good Catholic, that I was a good Christian.

In fact, I always imagined it being, by calling myself the Catholic guy, the presumption shouldn't be perfection.

The presumption should be sinner in need of God's mercy, sinner in need of God's

grace. Like if you hear a phrase like, oh, he's a practicing Catholic, she's a practicing Catholic.

What you should really think is, oh, sinners in desperate need of God's grace and are able to

recognize the need for mercy, the need for redemption, the need for

salvation. Sometimes you get it wrong when somebody will see me do something, hear me do something,

and they'll be like, but you're the Catholic guy. I go, right. The reason I'm Catholic is because

I'm a big screw up. The reason I'm Catholic is because I am a sinner who needs a savior.

So for me, Catholic guy as a phrase, as a title, doesn't imply perfection.

It implies imperfection.

Now, Mark has a title that I think, when did you come up with the phrase Bible geek for yourself?
