to share them with us. Welcome, sir. Hi, thanks for having me, Mark. Well, first, your background.

How did you end up at Junipero Serera? Well, so it actually, funny story,

actually first things is involved in this. All right. I was running at all boys, I was running at all

boys school in Chicago where I hail from. And this was this was circa 2007, where I started at the school. I taught, I was a high school

teacher by trade for a number of years. I taught high school Spanish and English, and then I was

running an all-boys school in Chicago for about six years. And it was run 2012 when the chaplain of

our school, Father Rocky Hoffman, knew that I was looking for another opportunity, leadership opportunity that likely would have taken me outside of Chicago.

And he said, hey, Rich, did you see the newest edition of first things?

And I confessed I hadn't seen it.

So I opened up the magazine when I got home.

And there was a little quarter page ad for the president of J. Sarah Catholic

High School in San Juan Capistrano, California. Incredibly intriguing. So I shared with my wife everything

about the school and what it was at that time it had been coming up on its 10-year anniversary.

And my wife was incredibly interested. I kept the way from her, the fact that it was in San Juan Camp Estrada, California,

about whatever, 2,500 miles from home.

But eventually she acquiesced to make a longer story short, through my head in the ring,

and wound up interviewing about a week later, and then started at the school in October 2012.

But it was a real, it was a real whirlwind of events.
