Maybe that's specific for those of us in the United States who celebrate the Thanksgiving Day holiday that

just happened. And I'm sure some of you just rolled your eyes because it's kind of a terrible

holiday built on a lie and white supremacy. I'm aware of that. The origins of the holiday is

horrible, but it's also one of the few rituals I have in my life

that brings me together with some of my extended family.

And the new ritual is to have everyone over to my house, because now that I have a house,

the family's been coming here, except last year I wasn't home.

I was traveling. I was in New Zealand and I missed it. So it was great to be home and to host some

people in my family that I don't get to see very often. And not only was it great to be with those people,

but my mother-in-law made two glorious pumpkin pies.

And you probably wouldn't know this about me,

but pumpkin pie is my favorite all-time dessert.

More than any other dessert that I have ever tasted, pumpkin pie is dear to my heart.
