Summary

When a woman has a baby, sometimes things can go wrong. When you are in a poor country, those things often don't get fixed.

Dr Catherine Hamlin saw these women needed help and decided to do something about it. She devoted her life to working in the poorest villages in Ethiopia saving thousands of women's lives. She did it all with kindness and determination.

1:30.0	Eleanor Catherine Nicholson was born in Sydney in 1924. Catherine was always adventurous, camping, riding horses and climbing trees.
1:34.7	When she was 12, Catherine was sent to boarding school, a long way from home. But if Catherine was scared or sad she didn't show it.
1:46.0	She studied hard and decided she wanted to become a doctor.
1:51.0	She became an obstetrician and a gynecologist.

2:00.0	Catherine married another doctor, Reg Hamlin, and they had a baby of their own.
