And that gives us something of a clue as to what the focus of this book is about.

I'm not a lawyer, but it's actually about how law impacts everyday life in post-Brexit Britain,

particularly for low-paid EU migrant workers.

So given the title of the book, I was wondering if you could start by explaining to us the sort of state the UK is in vis-a-vis low-paid EU migrant workers.

Do we know how many there are, where they are, and how their activity and working practices

might have changed recently?

Shall I start and just talk to you a little bit about Great Yarmouth, which is where our

work has been done. So EU migrant workers in around Great Yarmouth are working predominantly

in the fields, but also in the factories, predominantly chicken factories in around Great Yarmouth.

Now, as far as numbers are concerned, we know that probably the

largest number of low-paid EU migrant workers are in East Anglia, certainly those outside

the London area. In Yarmouth itself, in the borough, it's about 10,000, which is about one in 10
