Summary

Nat loves a good catfish story! They can be so intense and a little crazy. Will our children be smarter than we are when it comes to catfishing? Will they have evolved enough to not take what they see online as real life, unlike many of us who have fallen for a good filter? We share a few catfish stories this week, some famous, some not. And if you haven't been catfished yet, consider yourself one of the lucky ones!

catfishing is probably more prevalent than ever. I think everyone catfishes to a degree. Yeah, but this is different. Because it's like a resume. Everyone lies on a resume. Yeah, but catfishing, like getting into a full relationship. Okay. But I think even if you lie a little bit about who you are and what you do, it is... I just can't imagine. I would be so afraid for them to find out.

It's funny how computers like to be difficult, just like, you know, men. It's Friday, and it's about your podcast. I wish we had some lesbian stories. You know, people were married and then became lovers with women. What was it like going from a man to a woman? Okay, we can get that. Don't you think that'd be interesting? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it would be because I can't imagine it is any, anything the same. It's got to be 100% different. Um, guys, I love the show Catfish. I love, I, you want, when you want to lean into this side yeah um i love nev shulman i used to watch a show and now when I'm in my car, she said Neff Schulman. I'm like, who the heck is that? Um, his wife actually has a podcast too, I think still. Really? Yeah. Um, but I mean, I feel like he was the original like a storyteller of catfishing and he had a show. He has a show. I don't know if he sells a show because in in Canada we get different things and nobody watches TV, but. In Canada, he gets different things and nobody gets TV. I get that because it's like, and there's so many channels now. I can't even find a show on a channel. I mean, don't even know where people watch erotica because I'm not even sure how you get there because everything is just so tricky. I know. And you know what? I saw a clip. I had said I saw a clip come up of something that I wanted to see.

Yeah. And I went to go find it because it said it came out on Netflix, but now it's only on prime. Because you know, like they sell the rights for things and yada, yada. Yeah. But anyways, Neffsulman was like the first really to bring cat fishing into the spotlight. and I now listen to his podcasts. And because we go on long drives with the kids,

my kids now completely. first really to bring catfishing into the spotlight. And I now listen to his podcasts. And because we

go on long drives with the kids, my kids now completely understand what catfishing is. And one of

a famous time that catfishing happened was Manta I Teo, who was an NFL player who completely

got catfished. And there are parts of the way that you understand why it happened

2:20.0

yeah but to think that you know such a successful really handsome educated um lots of family that comes

2:29.7

from everything good could be catfish that's that's that's what really really it's a murder mystery really it's like you really had i'm sure a lot of them end up in murder too and like you were saying how that housewife got got catfished i like that you know if you're a catfisher you i'm sure they end up in murder just on a side note just off the cuff i would say two things might happen one could be murder because they're obsessed with the person but another another thing could be like, I don't know, potential like suicide because when the person actually finally wants to meet and you're not the person you say you are, that could be a lot of pressure. I think if you're catfishing, you're delusional and you want them to like you for as a person and then they fall in love with you and then you show up and they're like oh but they

3:07.6

really are like they'll like me and then will fall in love and then it'll be okay do you know what I mean

3:12.2
