And just for perspective, Hurricane Katrina made landfall as a category 3.

Right now, Hurricane Melissa is a powerful category three storm that is barreling towards Cuba,

a direct dark of night hit now just hours away as forecasters warn of deadly flashed

flooding, 30 inches of rain, and winds around 130 miles per hour.

Now, when this hurricane made landfall on the southwest coast of Jamaica, it was the strongest to ever strike the island.

We're talking about wind speeds of 185 miles per hour.
