Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

And let's call to mind those we've promised to pray for.

God created us to reach perfect happiness and Jesus came to reveal the way of life that leads to this happiness.

Jesus is the word of God and the full teaching of Jesus is found not only in scripture but also in tradition and the teaching of the

Catholic Church which we call the Magisterium. The catacism of the Catholic Church is the best synthesis of the full teaching of Jesus, the word of God, which is found in scripture, tradition in and the magisterium.

Therefore, the catechism is a profound book

to meditate upon.

Yet, almost no one has one or reads it or reflects upon it.

I'm going to weave in some reflections taken from the Catechism for our

Rosary meditation this summer. The catacism is broken down by paragraphs rather

than by page numbers. It begins in paragraph one by stating the purpose of life. To get a degree, a high-paying job, live in Johnson County and drive

a Tesla. Just kidding.

God infinitely perfect and blessed in himself in a plan of sheer goodness, freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life.

God created you to share in His divine life, that is, to be like God and live like God forever as His adopted son or daughter.

And everything God does, and everything God does and everything God allows to happen in your life is

done or allowed to help you reach this goal. This is all the matters to God that you share in his life forever.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow it be your name,

Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us.
