Everything Belongs is a show about living the teachings of Richard Rohr forward, co-creating a world where everyone and everything belongs. On future seasons, we'll be making our way through Richard's major teachings. But in this inaugural mini-series, we're focusing on laying the foundations for those seasons by catching up with Richard and various staff members at the Center for Action and Contemplation to gain an understanding for how the CAC is evolving as we water the roots of Richard’s teachings while nourishing new growth at the edges. 0:13.1	And through over 50 years of teaching and 50 books to his name,
0:17.8	he would spend the rest of his life trying to show us that everyone and everything belongs.
0:24.9	Now, in the sunset of his life, in his 80th year, with the world rapidly changing,
0:32.6	Richard is fond of quoting St. Francis and saying, I have done what was mine to do. Now you must do what is
0:40.4	yours to do. So here we are as our beloved teacher, Father Richard Roar, is stepping back
0:47.2	and we're sitting with these massive questions. If everything belongs, why does it have to hurt so bad? If everything belongs, why does the world seem so
0:59.5	unjust sometimes? And what is our responsibility to help create a more just and loving reality,
1:08.0	where everyone really does belong.
1:16.9	How do we live these teachings forward and apply them in an ever-evolving and increasingly messy world?
1:19.2	In the coming seasons, we'll be moving through Richard's major books and teachings,
1:23.8	but in this introductory season, we'll be setting the stage by focusing on guideposts for living the teachings forward.
1:30.1	We'll introduce you to our expanding community and explore how together we are all striving to co-create a world where everyone and everything might actually belong.
1:40.3	But first, today, we'll begin by paying Richard a visit.
1:47.0	In planning this first season of the Everything Belongs podcast, we went through quite a few
1:53.5	iterations. Each shift was a move in the right direction, even as we suspected we hadn't
1:59.9	quite discovered the right destination.
2:02.9	That is when it clicked in. How can this podcast reflect inform what Richard reflects in his
2:09.2	teachings? It is not about right destination, but right direction. It is not about perfect
2:15.4	articulation, but authentic, humble, and purposeful seeking.
