Welcome back to the Adam Schaefter podcast as the preseason is underway with last week's Hall of Fame game,

and we are getting ready for more preseason football this upcoming week. And as we continue to

look ahead for the upcoming season,

we will be joined today by the newest member of the CBS analyst sports team, the former Falcons

and Colts quarterback Matt Ryan, as he looks ahead to this season and looks back on the

storied career that he led in Atlanta and Indianapolis.

And we had plenty of NFL news this past week, much of it surrounding NFL running backs.

The news came down last Friday that the NFL was suspending Pro Bowl running back, Alvin Camara, for his role in a fight

the night before the 2002 Pro Bowl in Las Vegas. And that was a wild scene the next day at the

Pro Bowl where Alvin Camara is on the field. Police come into the stadium. They're looking to talk to

him about the fight that occurred. This case

dragged on and on and on. He pleaded down from a potential felony charge to a misdemeanor in this

particular case. And frankly, when you spoke to people around the league, they were bracing for a

longer suspension than three games. I think the Saints thought it would be longer

than three games. Part of the reason they went out during the season and signed Jamal Williams

and free agency and then drafted TCU running back, Kendry Miller, in round three. And as we

record this on Monday, they're hosting a visit with the former Browns running back,

Kareem Hunt, and so they are looking to add depth at that position.

They have added depth at the position.

And frankly, the fact that Kamara is getting only three games, I think, is a victory for the Saints,

a victory for Alvin Kamara.
