Summary

The Oscars? We don’t know her. This week, Rebecca and John are joined by VF Special Correspondent Joy Press to dive back into the wonderful world of television. They preview the dramas, comedies, and limited series we'll be talking about when the Emmy Awards roll around in September, so you can catch up now. They also catch up on The Drama, the Euphoria premiere, and the decision to move the Oscars to a decidedly less special home.

0:12.2	And I'm John Ross.
0:14.4	John, we're recording this the morning after the Euphoria premiere.
0:18.3	We got to go to that together.
0:20.0	You know, nice big Hollywood premiere.
0:23.5	How would you describe it?
0:24.9	I would describe it like attending your high school reunion
0:28.9	where everybody hates one another.
0:32.8	What are you talking about?
0:34.5	It was the cast didn't come up on stage.
0:38.5	Very unusual for a premiere, yeah.
0:40.5	So the way it was set up was Casey Blois, the president of HBO, made some announcements.
0:46.9	He introduced Sam Levinson, the creator of Euphoria.
0:51.0	He spoke.
0:51.9	He gave a very nice speech.
0:53.2	He mentioned that this season is a tribute to Angus Cloud,
0:56.0	who played Fez on the show, but died of an accidental overdose a couple of years ago.
1:03.0	And he got emotional, especially at the end, and he touched on themes that I think will be themes in this season.
1:18.4	But then normally what happens after that is the creator-director introduces the cast up onto the stage.
1:25.1	And, like, they stand there and wave and everyone gets to take out their phones and see them all together as a group.
1:26.9	That did not happen. Premiere started very late.
