Summary

George Bush has just launched Operation Just Cause. In other words, the US has invaded Panama.

The US had enjoyed a close relationship with Panama, and in particular its de facto leader,

General Manuel Noriega. But the relationship between the two countries had deteriorated

to the point of no return. The US wanted Noriega gone. More than 20,000 American troops invaded

Panama, seizing control of key military installations. Panama City became a battleground.

The US planned to extradite General Noriega from Panama to face charges in the US.
