But first, let's get you caught up.

The Seattle City Council wants to make it easier for police to hold owners of chronic nuisance

properties accountable.

Those are properties like motels or nightclubs that have had at least seven violent or disorderly

incidents in the last year.

The Council's Public Safety Committee is looking at giving the chief of police more leeway to

target such properties. Under the proposal, liquor violations would be considered nuisance

activities. If the council passes it, the city would target nightclubs that illegally serve alcohol
