Hey, good morning. I'm Patricia Murphy. It's Friday. This is Seattle now. This week, Kroger announced its closing four Fred Meyer stores in the Seattle area. Washington's only hybrid electric ferry isn't working, and people are acting up in public.

You may recall the swarm of more than a thousand small earthquakes near Mount Rainier this summer.

Now, scientists think they know what triggered them.

The Cascades Volcano Observatory says hydrothermal gas emissions caused by hot water

circulating through the Earth's crust are likely to blame. Not new magma rumbling underneath

the volcano. New data shows fewer adults in Seattle are choosing to drink alcohol

mirroring national trends reported by polling firm Gallup. Seattle Times reports 53% of adults

under age 35, say they've had a drink recently. That is 13 points lower than adults in the older

age bracket of 35 to 49. Last week, a new nationwide Gallup poll showed adults are drinking at the lowest level in 90 years of polling.

And it's going to be hot, hot, hot this weekend. If you are planning to get out, please check your route.

Beginning early on Saturday morning, light rail service will be suspended between Westlake and Soto for

testing on the extension line. Instead, shuttle buses will carry passengers between those two stops.

Regular service will resume at around 1.30 Saturday afternoon. And Washdot says it will close lanes

around the sound Friday through Monday.

Cruise will work simultaneously on preservation, maintenance, and construction projects on I-5, I-405, State Route 99, and State Route 18.
