The National Park Service announced this week they won't be using timed reservations to get into the park. The reservation system was created two years ago to control the number of visitors

and ease the impact on trails. Park service officials say they're dedicated to responsibly managing

congestion during peak periods by using, quote, proven traffic and parking management strategies.
