U.S. Senator Patty Murray is in Seattle this morning for a discussion about President Trump's move to cut federal funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Attendees will include researchers from the UW School of Medicine, Seattle Children's Hospital,

and the Research Institute at Virginia Mason.

A leaked budget draft from the White House shows a proposed cut to NIH of more than 40% for the next fiscal year.

Murray says those cuts will jeopardize life-saving cancer trials.

A big congratulations to musician and Garfield High School grad Kasa overall, who's one of six

recipients of the 2025 Doris Duke Artist Award.

It's the largest prize in the U.S. dedicated to individual performing artists.
