Hey, good morning. It's Patricia Murphy. It's Friday. This is Seattle now. This week, federal job

cuts have reached Washington's trails and campgrounds, state legislators are taking a look at

changing Washington state's flag, and Mayor Bruce Harrell pumped faked his state of the city audience

with a faux supersonic's announcement. Science journalist Jane Seahue and stranger queer

culture and politics reporter Vivian McCall are here to break down the week. But first,

let's get you caught up. Right now, it's not legal to smoke cannabis at venues in Washington

State, but that could change. State lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow event

organizers to permit people to purchase cannabis and then

smoke it or vape it on site. Sponsors of the bill say it's meant to address situations where people

aren't allowed to smoke in their residences. The public hearing is at 8 this morning. It's streaming
