But first, let's get you caught up.

Seattle Congresswoman Pramilla Jaya Paul is hosting a press conference this morning to address the federal government shutdown.

She and King County Executive Shannon Braddock will talk about the shutdown's potential impact on health care and food access. That starts at 10 this morning at the downtown Seattle Public Health Center.

Meanwhile, Washington's Department of Health is warning that the state's food assistance program,

also known as WIC, could seize operations within two weeks if the shutdown continues.

If you're near Green Lake on Sunday, you may see a rally and march for firearm safety.

It's being organized by Seasfire Northwest at 10 a.m. at the Green Lake Community Center.
