Hey, good morning. I'm Paige Browning. It's Friday. This is Seattle now. This week,

the Seahawks are in a good spot. One win away from the Super Bowl. Washington State's

legislature could require cursive lessons in schools and allow alcohol in large movie theaters.

And we are not done debating the name of our region's big airport.

They have a suggestion, but you may not like it.

On the show today, we're kind of having a public media party.

We've got a KUOW panel here today with producer Andy Hurst and editor Phyllis Fletcher.

But first, let's get you caught up.

The Seahawks play the L.A. Rams on Sunday in the National Football Conference Championship, basically the semifinals.

The game starts at 3.30 in Seattle at Lumen Field.

The winner will face the Broncos or the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Win or lose, it's the last home game of the season,

so be ready for traffic. Whether your favorite movies got their flowers this year or got

snubbed in Oscar nominations, Washington's getting some attention. The movie Train Dreams is both set and filmed in Washington State. It has four Oscar nominations, including for Best Picture. The movie's about a 20th century logger and railroad worker. And if you want to see it before the Academy Awards, Central Cinema and SIF will show it this month and next.

And Washington State Ferries has a possible taker for two old ferry vessels.

Seattle-based Stabbert Marine wants to refurbish the retired Hayek and Clahoya.

Vessels the state is struggling to maintain itself.

The company would fix the vessels at their own expense,

then lease them back to the state. Washington State Ferry says it's considering the proposal
