Summary

As we continue our series looking at how we can position ourselves to experience the fullness of God’s promises, today we’re looking at how we can cast off negativity, so that we, right here and now, can experience to greater depth the joy that’s available to us in God. May God grant us the courage and perspective to choose life over death today as we seek to live the abundant life wholly available to us in Christ.

Our Scripture for today comes from Proverbs 18:21, and today's worship is Ever Be by Kalley Heiligenthal.

0:49.0	right thinking, and in saying only that which builds up. Negativity never serves to edify,
0:55.8	produce life or lead to anything positive. It can serve only the purpose of destruction.
1:02.4	Let's spend time today looking at what the Bible says about negativity. Learn how we can stop
1:08.4	its destruction and ask the Holy Spirit to be our helper in ridding it from our lives.
1:14.9	Scripture speaks very harshly of the power of an unbridled tongue. James 3, 2 through 6
1:22.1	For we all stumble in many ways, and if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is
1:28.5	a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses
1:35.3	so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also. Though
1:41.6	they are large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever
1:48.1	the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great
1:54.3	things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire, and the tongue is a fire,
2:01.3	a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body,
2:08.0	setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. The tongue is a rudder
2:14.5	that leads to a life of unrighteousness, where life lived in honor and obedience to God.
2:21.2	Proverbs 1821 says, Death in life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it
