Cassie Ventura dropped a staggering lawsuit accusing Sean Combs of sexual assault, human trafficking, harassment, assault, and more. The allegations were shocking to some, and confirmation of suspicions to others. Combs' attorney was quick to accuse Cassie Ventura of seeking a payday and of previously attempting to blackmail Combs for 30 million. Based on the strong denial from Combs's attorney, it was shocking when news of the lawsuit settling came just 24 hours after the filing of the lawsuit.  Law Firm Press Release The Full Complaint Connect With Me. Welcome back to the Emily Show. Today we are covering the world's fastest lawsuit from the lawsuit being filed to a settlement being reached where Cassie sued Sean Combs, who you might know as Puffy, Diddy, P-Diddy, or whatever else he is going by these days.

0:24.1

This lawsuit is unlike much I've seen, A, in the swiftness of the settlement, B in the fact that the lawsuit has a trigger warning directly

0:27.9

under the title box, and this lawsuit does deal with graphic information of a sexual nature

0:36.7

including sexual assault allegations of human trafficking and the rest of it.

0:43.4

As I do with these lawsuits, I will be covering the broader facts of the lawsuit,

0:48.7

but I will not be getting into any of the details

0:51.5

or the particularly graphic details. I will attach the lawsuit if you would

0:56.7

like to read it in the description box and in the show notes with this episode if you would like to go through the entirety of the lawsuit.

1:04.0

I want to go over the law, how this was filed, how swift this settlement happened,

1:09.0

what the different causes of action were,

1:13.1

why this is potentially a civil suit, not a criminal suit.

1:15.8

And I think there are definitely some legal aspects

1:18.9

and some strategic aspects we need to talk about.

1:22.0

But when I saw this news break on Thursday, this lawsuit was

1:27.2

filed on November 16th, I was like, oh that's wild. And then the news came out that the settlement happened on Friday, November 17th.

1:37.0

I was like, you've got to be, what?

1:40.0

That's wild.

1:42.0

So an extra huge thing to our sponsors today

1:44.8

because covering topics of a sensitive nature

1:47.3

aren't always super friendly across all platforms,

1:49.8

but I know that you guys want to know the law

1:51.6

behind the cases like this, and that's what we're going to do today.
