The other thing I noticed from Brian Cashman's media availability, and I don't know if this jumps

out at anybody else, but it jumped out of me. So I'm a player for you, and you can tell me I'm

crazy or I'm onto something. He was asked innocently about Volpe. Hey, how is Anthony Volpe's injury status,

his return, his rehab? He's obviously not going to be ready for the start of the year, which we knew.

And so Brian Cashman's update, I think, provided insight on how they're going to handle Volpe,

and I think it will make Yankee fans happy.

So, ladies and gentlemen, Brian Cashman.

He's doing great.

You know, his rehab is doing well.

He's in good spirits, and he's looking forward to, you know,

getting back and joining us when he's 110 percent so we can deploy him properly. So,

but so far so good, no, no issues on his rehab protocols. Two interesting things. 110%. You know what

that tells me? We are not bringing him back

until we feel we need to bring him back. Yeah. Which means if Jose Caballero or someone else

emerges as the shortstop and is playing well, they're going to really take their time with

Vopi and then he said deploy him the right way. I think the right way maybe you're no longer

guaranteed the shortstop. So part-time position player? Until you're proven. I mean, that's the way I would handle him and that's what he's shown. Yeah. That in moments we're okay with it. But if he's every single day and then he starts to struggle, you've got to give him time off. Which they never would do. They never would do prior. I think it's coming from the opposite direction now. I prove you healthy, hit down in the minors on rehab assignments. Let us have a vacancy where we're like, damn, we could really use Anthony Volpe. And then perform. And if all that happens, you have every right to regain the job as starting shortstop, but I don't think

he's going to be force-fed the way he has been the last few years. At least that's how I took

that comment from Brian Cashman. Now, maybe I'm reading too much into it. That's up to the people.

I'm just letting you know that's how I took that little 110% deployed properly line from your

general manager. They cannot risk bringing him back too early and having him struggle and pointing back to injury. Otherwise, it's a total sunk cost forever. Yeah, no, I get you. You know what happens, too. People boo him. He takes a beating from Yankees. His dad fights with fans over it. Trust me, I know. You could boo all you want. Well, it's still going to happen.
