Dustin Sweedleson here, you there. Thanks for making us part of your night. However you may be tuning in, Sirius XM Channel 158, YouTube TV, the Visa Watch app. All right. We got a lot to get to here. As a statement was made late into the night on Thursday, as the Detroit Pistons, go to Madison Square Garden. And first game post-all-star break, they take care of business, 126, 111. They were four and a half point dogs on the road, and they decimated the Knicks. Cade Cunningham finishes 42, 8, and 13, and we have a lot to discuss when it comes to Detroit basketball with our next guest.

But Detroit dominated every step of the way.

1:17.4

Let's start with them first.

1:19.4

How impressed were you with the way they handled the situation?

1:22.9

No Duren, no beef stew, and they were the more physical team from front to start front front to finish i mean

1:29.7

yeah it was it was wildly impressive especially given the situation dustin i mean the nicks were

1:34.6

i was talking about this was stormy today if there was a situation in which a team was going to have

1:39.1

a spot circled it would be the nicks tonight because the pistons have had their number

1:43.0

they've shown them a couple of embarrassing performances and obviously Pistons lost to them in the postseason last year. And so you're expecting that maybe a good effort from New York tonight would get them a victory. That has not been the case. And that was not the case. They got absolutely embarrassed to your point. An offensive rating in this game for the Nixon non-garbage time of 111. And to me, that's where I start with Detroit. You mentioned the fact that they didn't have Stewart. They didn't have Jalen Duren. This Detroit team has been so impressive defensively and they are consistently above average on that end of the floor. And in fact, if you look at it for the season, they're one of the better defensive teams. They're one of the better defensive team. Second best right now in non-garbage time defensive efficiency. This team continues to operate at such a high level on that end of the floor. And that to me is the most impressive aspect of what the Pistons have done here. They're one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. And they're going to be able to keep themselves in almost any game in almost any series with that. Yeah.

2:54.2

I mean, that's the thing. They set the tone. You're going to have to play their style of fight because their defense controls everything. And like they don't have a lot of good second, third options. Like Jalen Duren's having a great year. I shouldn't say that. Jalen Duren's becoming a number two, but really that number three, that number four is Tobias Harris. but they get production out of guys like Javante Green and Ron Holland off the bench.

2:51.3

It's really a fun team to watch, but with those names I just said, I think it emphasizes the point that, you know, we get caught up in this a lot. But Cade Cunningham, what he's doing with this roster, the way he's playing, he's down to eight to one to be the MVP sGA's minus 170 yokic

3:09.4

is plus 280 you and i both have a vested interest in kate at 30 to one to win most valuable

3:14.4

player is there any world where the voters really consider him oh i think so i mean dude he's the best
