College basketball 2025-26. It has come and gone. The Michigan Wolverines are your national champion.

0:20.7

69-63, the final score

0:22.9

as they take care of the Yukon Huskies who do cover catching six and a half, and the game

0:27.4

goes under the total of 146 and a half. It's been a fun season. And every single week, I've enjoyed

0:33.8

our conversation with Greg Hoops Peterson, Veston College Basketball analyst, his podcast, Coast Coast Hoops, wherever you get your podcast. He breaks down college basketball every single day. And now, my friend, the season has come to an end. Now, I know the podcast doesn't stop. The portal is going to open up, which means you'll be all over it. But let's put this season into perspective. First, the performance from Michigan.

0:55.9

The way they were able to navigate this thing, when it looked like the game was played on

0:59.1

Yukon's terms, what do you make of their performance in the title game? It goes to show how

1:04.7

important free throw shooting is. They shot 89% of the free throw line. Now, I could have used

1:10.3

them to not break that one and one with like 30 or so seconds of raining because I laid six and a half with Michigan. But so that was so big for them because they only go. I believe it was 2 of 15 from three par age. They shot less than 20% from three part range. But they found a way to get the job down. Even with the Axel Lenderbore, clearly not being under percent in this game because they did the little things well. They made their free throws. They were able to play relatively even up in the turnover department. That was a big difference in this game. And it's just how multi-dimensional Michigan is. They have some good three-point shooting. When they needed it, they were able to go to it. But I mean, tonight, the three ball wasn't going. So they decided to go a little bit more down low, find a way to be able to get to the free to line. That's just how great of a coach Dusty May is. Because when the game, maybe the show, we say blueprint, it's not going his way. Maybe it's not necessarily what they were expecting. They're able to change on the fly, be able to make those adjustments.

Michigan did a great job towards back out of the first half into the second half of really being able to separate from Yukon. What did you make of what Yukon accomplished here? Because, you know, there were a borderline one seat at the end. Some scuffles late in the season, the Big East,

2:18.1

where they didn't look the same as they did in the out of conference early in the year. But then Dan Hurley did his thing once we got to March. He's a cover machine in the NCAA tournament. And I thought the path was really difficult for Yukon to get gear. Felt like almost like there was some attrition in the bodies, just the wear down with the physicality of some of the games they had to go through.

2:35.7

What did you make a Yukon as the runner

2:37.1

up this season? I think that John Fanta put it best. They were the Michael Myers of this tournament.

2:43.6

You just couldn't kill these guys. Like even in the back half of this game, they hit a three

2:48.0

to make it like a four point game with 30 or so seconds remaining.

2:51.3

So I'm for Yukon, they just kept finding a way to keep coming and keep coming. And what I loved about

2:57.5

them is that even if they went nine to 33 from three, they didn't shoot it well from three.

3:02.0

They didn't fall into the same trap of Arizona. What doomed Arizona on Saturday is that they were settling for those like

3:08.6

15, 18 foot long two point shots and they just couldn't do that. They were either going to take

3:14.0

a three or they were going to go down low with the likes of Terrace Reed, Alex Caravan,
