The big story at this hour comes from the Los Angeles Lakers, and it's not that they

lost 139 to 96 to Oklahoma City, which snapped the four-game win streak for them.

It's that Luca Donchich got injured in that contest, leaving the game in the third quarter,

with the Lakers down by 32.

Reports coming various outlets right now. This one via Dave McMedman of ESPN. Luca left of the left hamstring injury in the third quarter. He's going to have an MRI on Friday. And obviously that's massive for a Lakers team that was surging coming into this game. They got punked by OKC. They found out out the litmus test and they found out that they are not

quite at that level yet. But this is still the team that's the number three seat in the Western Conference. And while I'm not buying them big picture to be anything special this year, Luca was on a special run. He was averaging 37 and a half points per game in the month of March, as we're now a couple games into the month of April here, but he was on an all-time heater. And he was looking

like he was on an all-time heater.

And he was looking like he was actually in shape.

So a bit concerning that he hurt his hamstring, an injury that's soft tissue that can linger.

And with the postseason right around the corner, you have to imagine that might be the end of

his regular season performance for Luca Donchich, because after this,

the Lakers go to Dallas. They'll take on Oklahoma City again at home on next Tuesday. Then it's

Golden State on the road, Phoenix at home, and Utah at home, at this point, if you're the Lakers,

if you believe that you can really make a run here and you should, that's what you're supposed

to do, even though it's not realistic.

You have to rest Luca Donchitz, and I believe that is the end of his regular season. That is my speculation. I have no evidence to back that, but the risk reward just isn't worth it. If you're JJ Reddick and company, and you've so much on the line this year, trying to turn the page from LeBron next year.

You want to see how far you can push this team, at least with him still on the roster.

So Luca Donchitz right now, getting an MRI on Friday, and we'll have more information.
