Summary

Last fall, we brought you Carolyn Riggins' story. Carolyn had disappeared after a night out at a bingo hall. Yesterday, we shared the first part of our update on Carolyn's case. Today we're taking you through the events that have transpired since Carolyn's car and body were recovered, and her family's ongoing quest for answers almost a year later.

Dr. Taft earned a bachelors, masters and doctorate in psychology from Baylor University. He has been a licensed psychologist since 2000. He has served the Corsicana community in private practice since 2002 and was the Director of Clinical Services at the Corsicana Residential Treatment Center from 2000-2005. Dr. Taft provides clinical counseling services, consultation services, and forensic services.

Yesterday, we left our update to Carolyn's story with her family waiting for the investigation into the unexplained circumstances regarding Carolyn's discovery and death.

The questions her family had hoped would be answered by autopsy reports were left open ended because of the advanced state of decomposition in which Carolyn's remains were found.

Carolyn's family had a meeting with the previous Fort Worth chief of police who has since retired. This meeting took place back in November of 2020, shortly after Carolyn was found.

When we talked with Kim this past July, she told us how that meeting went.

The date of that autopsy report, I had a meeting with Fort Worth PD. It was Chief Crouse, Deputy Chief Kimper, Lieutenant Ward Robinson.

I think it's his name and I think Sergeant Phillips were in the meeting and it was a virtual meeting. I told him I said, you know, we're about to lay my sister to res, but you guys have worked to do to figure out what happened to her and why her case was handled so terribly.

I went over their policies and procedures handbook for missing persons and just kind of went down the list of all the things that they did not do.

There weren't a lot of answers given in that meeting and basically I was told, okay, we're going to have a review and we'll schedule another meeting with you to discuss the outcome of that review of called several times to try to get that meeting schedule, but because there's a new chief.

I was told that he has to be brought up to speed on the case. They would call me to schedule from there and it's just been pretty much phone tag or.

Boy smell boxes since then I've not been able to make any leeway on meeting with Fort Worth PD about my sister's case.
