Summary

In the United States, there are a few contenders for the title UFO capital. You might think it’s New Mexico, with its sprawling deserts and history of UFO crashes and secret military bases. You may guess it’s California, covering two-thirds of the west coast and the location for the sensational Battle of Los Angeles in 1942. Both guesses would be wrong. After compiling data on UFO sightings throughout the US, it turns out that the state you're most likely to spot unidentified aerial phenomenon is Vermont. Located in the northeastern U.S., known as the “Green Mountain State”, Vermont has a history with UFOs stretching as far back as the mid 17th century. On an August evening in 1968, two teenage summer camp workers got to experience the Vermont UFO phenomenon up close and personal.
