Set in what is now the Rubio Woods Forest Preserve just 18 miles southeast of Chicago, Illinois sits an unassuming plot of land that houses an estimated 150 graves. These graves, the first burial taking place in 1844, have long been untended and are in various states of disrepair. Visitors and paranormal experts who have visited the grounds have reported feelings of despair and isolation while walking among the headstones and in the surrounding forest. Coupled with the vandalization of numerous gravestones there have been recorded incidents of illegal exhumation of some of the human remains.
