Welcome back to the uncanny Halloween Advent calendar.

Today's mini case comes from Trevor.

He says, many years ago, I worked as a night shift toolmaker.

I was working on one of the machines when I had the feeling that somebody was

watching me. I turned around and outside the window was an old lady. She was talking to me,

but I couldn't hear her, so I mouthed that she shouldn't be in the grounds of the factory and told

her to go round to the fire doors. I went to the doors and opened them, but she was nowhere to be

seen. I went outside and searched, and it was then I realised it was 11 o'clock at night,

and the security locked the gates at 10 so she would be trapped.

I went to the night shift foreman and told him, and he asked me to describe her, which I did.

He said, oh, that's the old lady from the end house opposite the factory.

I corrected him and said, no, there's a young family in the end house.

Not that house, he said.

There used to be another house on the end of that one, and it was destroyed during the war.

The old lady was killed in it, and you're just one of many people who have seen her.

I swear she was there as a plain as day, and there was no way anyone could have got out of those grounds.
