Newlyweeds, Dalia and Michael DiPolito lived in the newly developed community of Renaissance

Commons in Boynton Beach, a coastal city in Palm Beach County, Florida. They had recently purchased

a modern three-story townhouse on a palm tree lined street named DeVia de Pepe, which overlooked

several canals and waterways. The beach was just a 10-minute drive away, and there were a number

of restaurants, shops and cafes nearby, making the location well-suited to the couple's active

cosmopolitan lifestyle. 26-year-old Dalia had recently announced she was pregnant with their

first baby, and the area was ideal for raising a child. On the morning of August 5, 2009,

Dalia arose early to start her day with a workout at the local gym. 38-year-old Michael

usually joined her, as Dalia didn't like going alone, but two weeks earlier he had undergone

liposuction on his lower back, and was experiencing complications from the procedure that left him

mostly bedridden. Dalia promised to stop at Starbucks to pick up a coffee for Michael on her way home.

Just before 6am, she left the house in her husband's Chevy Tahoe SUV, and to drove to the L8
