On the 12th of January 1965, Mary and Schmidt and Christine Sharrick, both age 15, were

if you are murdered on a desolate, isolated stretch of beach just north of Pinala, south

of Sydney. The case would come to be known as the Wanda Beach murders. One mention of

the word Wanda is enough to send tools down the spine of those who remember the case

that dominated the television reports, radio airwaves and print media over the day.

The killing spark won the biggest meeting on Australia's ever seen. The police file

on the cases over 10,000 pages long, and over 14,000 people have been interviewed. Police

efforts to solve the case have been described as exhaustive and leads have been followed

up all around Australia. Despite the best efforts of police

and notarages have ever been laid, the case remains unsolved to this day. The Wanda case

contains many more questions than answers. What drew Mary and Christine to the Wanda

sandhills that day? Had they prearranged to meet someone, were they just in the wrong

place at the wrong time? Speculation in many different theories have surrendered the case

since day one. Only one thing is clear. Abyssal and Ruthless Killer has never been brought

to justice.
